The Graco Nautilus 3-in-1 car seat is a longtime favourite for it's high safety standards and excellent value for money. But some reviews claim that it's not comfortable enough for their child. What is the truth in these reports?
There is no doubt about the high pedigree of the Graco Nautilus car seat in many areas:
extensive crash testing
steel reinforced structure
grows with your child
meets and/or exceeds all US safety regulations
cup holder within easy reach
side storage for those favourite travel toys
easy installation
Considering the seat is cheaper than the Britax models you certainly do get a lot for your money. So what is the comfort problem, I hear you ask?
Well, the main complaint is that the straps are not easy to adjust - some padding must be removed in order to make your adjustment. Having said that, you really don't need to adjust very often if the seat is used for only one child.
These same straps are also unfortunately quite short with the result that they may end up underneath your child. This might seem like an absolute deal breaker but then you must ask yourself - why is this seat such a longtime best seller?
The fact remains that most children are not troubled in the least by the short strap - most children won't even notice it's there and the padding and comfort of the rest of the chair seem to more than compensate for this small shortcoming.
So in brief: in terms of safety, value for money and all round durability and yes, comfort, you will be hard-pressed to find a superior car seat for your child than the Graco Nautilus. It comes highly recommended by far too many happy parents!
